...John Wick

1. The dogs were ridiculously cute.

2. The sound track was amazing.

3. Kick ass violence.

If you need a little more...

John is a retired mafia assassin. With a rather sad back story, not too far from Keanu Reeves' own, his wife has just died, leaving him with the cutest puppy as company. After slighting a Russian bosses son, he is attacked at his well appointed home, the dog is killed and his Mustang is taken. Naturally this pushes him over the edge. Frankly I would lose my shit to over that dog and the car too.

The casting was good Willem Dafoe, Swedish actor Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen (who I always get an uncomfortable feeling about from GoT) was a good fit and nice little appearance from John Leguizamo.

The underground assassin world created is really interesting. Special coins used as currency, cleaners that you make a reservation with, secret safe house hotels with it's own special code. I really would have liked if this was explored a little more, I kinda wanted to be an assassin.

Naturally there are moments that are questionable. Example John has crazy gun skills (shoots people in the dark), he is a legend in assassin circles, when it actually counts and he has his opportunity to exact his revenge he misses.

If you ignore the oddities and just strap in for the ride you won't be disappointed. When I watched this I wanted to watch an action movie with a hero that just kicked ass and owned it. John Wick certainly delivered.
